…Albert Rd South Melbourne. Occupation stated as Mining Engineer, which ties in with Kalgoolie. Iris was initially married to Albert Simpson, (Uncle Bert), and they had a son Murray who was a couple of years younger than me. Uncle Bert was captured by the Japs in Singapore and was a POW for the remainder of the war. He was repatriated in 1945, but died some 3 months later from the effects of starvation.
