…I don’t know if this qualifies as Australia-Japan stuff, but I was reading some things today about the POW escape at Cowra in 1944.  There were definitely Japanese prisoners in there, but also apparently Italians and Germans.  They made a break for it in the middle of the night on the 5th of August.  Would like to read more about this one day if I have the time.  Anyway, found some interesting articles on Trove in the Canberra Times and the Sydney Morning Herald .…
