…A Tragedy of the Floods Glastonbury Creek, via Gympie, Queensland. The following story was published in " The Queenslander " of Saturday 08 February 1890: "On the night of Monday, 13th January, the Glastonbury Creek, at Glastonbury hamlet, thirteen miles from Gympie , rose in sudden flood, sweeping away trees, crops, and houses, and, to deepen still further the melancholy tragedy, sacrificing a mother and her three children in its furious onset."
